Password must be at least 16 and at most 32 characters long, must contain three of the four classes of characters: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits, and other special characters (punctuation, spaces, et cetera). Do not use a word or phrase from a dictionary, and do not use a word that can be obviously tied to the user which are less likely to be compromised. Changing the password on a regular basis also helps to maintain security. Computing has changed dramatically over the past few years and there are many simple-to-use programs that can allow an intruder to exploit user accounts.
Your password for all accounts including LONI and LSU HPC should be unique and should not be extrapolated from any of your other password.

LSU HPC
If a LSU HPC password needs to be changed or reset, one must submit a request here to initiate the process. Please note that the email address must be the one used to apply for the LSU HPC account. Like the account request process, you will receive an email which includes a link to the reset form where the new password can be entered. After you confirm your new password, it will not be in effect until one of the LSU HPC administrators approves it, which may take up to a few hours.
LONI
